Walkthrough

    In the room with four moveable blocks, pull out block #2.
  2. 2
    Drop into the area, slide down the slanted block, and a panther (1) will attack from your far right. Use your shotgun and aim for 2-3 blasts.

    Throw the switch and climb back out. Pull up on the tall pillar to the SW to find a small Medi Pack (1).

    Keep climbing and jump into an opening to a room with a square hole in the floor. Perform a standing jump over the hole and look behind the opened door for magnum clips (2).

    Drop through the center opening to return to the first room.
  6. 6
    Behind block #4, a panther (2) guards a small Medi-Pack (3). This enemy is triggered when you cross the line dividing the large room from the inner area.

    Move block #4 east twice, roll across the line, run back, and leap onto the block to eliminate the panther with your pistols.

    Move block #4 north twice and east once so it is underneath the gold overhead door on the north wall.

    Pull block #3 twice to the east. Line up with Lara's heel on the shadow line and take 2 walking steps forward.

    Roll to trigger the panther, then run forward. As soon as Lara clears the ceiling, jump atop the block to eliminate the panther (3) with your pistols.

    Pull out block #1 to reveal a watery area with a crocodile.

    Swim in and pull out ASAP, then blast the crocodile (4) with your pistols from a safe position.

    Scout the waters for a Saphire Key (4) in a cubby on the outside of the central area in the SE corner, a small Medi pack (5) on the east side of the outer perimeter of the central area near the north end, and Magnum clips (6) near the SW corner.

    Return to the room with the movable blocks (the underwater exit is to the north).

    Use the Saphire key in the slot just to the left as you exit this room to open the overhead door. Get on the movable box and equip your Magnums.

    Save your game at the overhead Save Crystal (1).

    A panther mummy (5) awaits in the room ahead.

    Strategy #1 -- The Direct Approach: Run up the stairs with your Magnums drawn. When you enter the room and Lara targets the mummy, stop moving and shoot. You may need to reload a few times.
Tips
  • This level contains 7 Save Crystals.
  • In the first room, only block #1 is required. Paths #3 and #4 offer no rewards or only 2 shotgun shells, respectively. Path #2 is only worthwhile if you can reach the tall pillar safely, gaining Uzi and Magnum clips.
  • After the first panther mummy encounter, you can likely reach the next Save Crystal safely. Enemies from there to the next Save Crystal can be defeated from a safe position.
  • Optional enemies encountered during the first playthrough can be avoided if you are not aiming for all 16 kills.
  • There are plenty of ammo pickups in this level.
  • The only unavoidable damage may occur when making the jump to the Secret behind the gong.
