This section covers the initial steps for starting your adventure in Toukiden 2, including character creation and the early setup of your game experience. As a Slayer who fought in the "Awakening," you emerge in Mahoroba Village with amnesia, ready to face the demon-infested world.

The game features open-world exploration with Mahoroba Village as the central hub. You can access your inventory and setups from chests, raise and name Tenko companions, and engage in seamless combat encounters. A new "Demon Hand" ability allows for enhanced mobility and combat against demons, while faster running and automatons for item scavenging are also available. Crafting materials at the Professor's research facility and managing a miasma gauge in corrupted areas are key survival mechanics. Regions have hazard levels that decrease as demons are defeated, unlocking new items and weapons. Look for Golden Slayer seals scattered throughout the world for special rewards. New weapon types like the sword and shield and trick whip are introduced, alongside customizable protagonists and a day/night cycle. Downloadable content includes Mitama and armor sets.
