Toukiden 2 introduces several new mechanics and refinements to weapon attributes and the upgrading process. Players can enhance their gear through various methods, including the blacksmith and Professor's research facility, to gain an edge against the demonic threats.

• Weapon Upgrading: Weapons can be enhanced at the blacksmith. For superior bonuses, seek out the blacksmith prodigy Kiyomaro.
• Crafting Materials: The Professor's research facility allows players to craft better materials from item drops. Success rates can be increased by adding more materials.
• Weapon Types: Every weapon has updated actions in its moveset. New weapon types include the sword and shield and the trick whip.
• Buffs and Skills: Players can gain temporary buffs and skills by eating Kuon's meals. New recipes become available as story events and requests are cleared.
• Demon Hand: This new feature can be used to stun demons, lock onto specific body parts, or obliterate them.
• Miasma: Entering corrupted areas fills a miasma gauge. If it fills completely, the player character perishes. End miasma by defeating the demon within the cursed stone.
• Regions: Hazard levels range from safe to dangerous. Eliminating demons increases area safety, unlocking new items and weapons.
• Golden Slayer Seals: Collect these hidden seals around the world for a special prize.
