Feathershield

Characters: Fudoquia

Valor Skill: Mirror Ring - Grants an allied unit the same buffs as the user.

Opinion: The Feathershield is an anti-magic tank. Its abilities like Row Resistance and Mystic Shield boost Magic Defense, while Mirror Weakness prevents debuffs (ailments still apply). Reflect Magic is its standout skill, reflecting any magic attack back at the caster regardless of range. Weaknesses include vulnerability to arrows as they are fliers, Sacrifice not reducing damage covered, and susceptibility to ailments.

Feathershield Abilities:

• Impulse (Level 1): 100 Phys damage, 1 Hit, 100% Accuracy, 1 AP. Inflicts Mag Def -50% on ground-based targets.
• Row Resistance (Level 20): 1 AP. Grants +50% Mag Def to the user’s row, extending to all allies during the day.
• Mystic Shield (Level 30): 1 AP. Grants user +50% Mag Def and +2 PP.
• Reflect Magic (Level 1): 1 Hit, 100% Accuracy, 2 PP. Reflects a magic attack.
• Sacrifice (Level 15): 1 PP. Covers an ally from an attack, grants user +2 PP.
• Mirror Weakness (Level 25): True Accuracy, 1 PP. If the user is debuffed, removes the debuff and places it on the target.

Feathersword

Characters: Ochlys, Umerus

Valor Skill: Haste - Negates an ally’s battle wait time.

Opinion: Featherswords start strong but decline as the game progresses. They initially excel as a dodge and block tank. By the endgame, they attempt to shift to damage dealing with Honed Slash and Discharge, but lack the stats to support this. Focusing on evasion is recommended, with other aspects as bonuses.

Feathersword Abilities:

• Spiral Sword (Level 1): 100 Phys damage, 1 Hit, 100% Accuracy, 1 AP. Inflicts Evasion -20, Grants user +20 Evasion.
• Shield Smite (Level 10): 100 Phys damage, 1 Hit, 100% Accuracy, 1 AP. Inflicts Defense -20%, Grants user 20% Defense.
• Honed Slash (Level 30): 70 Phys damage, 3 Hits, 100% Accuracy, 2 AP. Becomes Truestrike if the user is buffed.
• Accelerate (Level 1): 1 PP. After being attacked, gain +20 initiative and +30 Accuracy.
• Diurnal Guard (Level 15): 1 PP. Blocks an attack with Medium Guard, gains +1 PP if during the day.
• Discharge (Level 25): 1 PP. Before attacking, consumes all buffs to power the attack (Boost is 25% per consumed buff).

Legionnaire

Characters: Hodrick, Bryce [Postgame - Hermann, Beaumont]

Valor Skill: Fortress - Negates stage damage suffered by allies within range.

Opinion: Legionnaires are physical walls capable of tanking most physical attacks and protecting allies. They have poor magical defense and limited offense. Pairing them with Sainted Knights to cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) magic weakness and a healer for chip damage is advised.

Legionnaire Abilities:

• Sting (Level 1): 100 Phys damage, 1 Hit, 100% Accuracy, 1 AP. +50 Potency if the user is below 50% HP.
• Row Protection (Level 25): 1 AP. Grants allies in the user’s row +50% Phys. Def.
• Greatshield (Level 30): 1 AP. Grants user +50% Phys Def and +2 PP.
• Heavy Cover (Level 1): 1 PP. Covers an ally with a Heavy Guard.
• Guardian (Level 15): 1 PP. Grants +20% Phys Def and +20% Guard Rate when hit by a physical attack.
• Row Cover (Level 20): 2 PP. Covers a row of allies with a Medium Guard.

Vanguard

Characters: Lex, Colm

Valor Skill: Provoke - Draws enemy units in range to the user.

Opinion: The Vanguard is designed to protect against ranged attacks and functions well early on, but its utility wanes midgame. After promotion and unlocking Provoke, its usefulness increases. It tanks well with good Physical Defense and manageable Magic Defense. Its active skills are unremarkable, but passive skills like Arrow Cover, which completely blocks ranged attacks, are beneficial.
