Thanks for the Tip

Follow our guide to complete the 'Thanks for the Tip' mission in Watch Dogs. Learn how to bypass ctOS blockers, deal with ambushes, and escape the area.

Alright, let's get through 'Thanks for the Tip.' After that call from Clara, you'll need to head to a waypoint in The Loop. Before you get too far, take a moment to scout the alley for any crafting materials – you know, the usual stuff.

Now, you'll find the access point you need, but it's being blocked by two ctOS boxes. You'll see white lines leading from them, showing they're active. You gotta shut both down before you can proceed.

The first box is pretty close to the access point, actually. Turn around from where you're standing and look up. There's a camera you can hack up there that'll give you eyes on the first box. For the second one, you'll need to head further down the alley, towards the east. Drop down and make your way east until you spot a scissor lift. Look up from there, hack another camera, and you should see the second box directly across the building. With both unlocked, head back to the access point and hack into the apartment.

Heads up! That meet-up turns out to be a trap, and you'll be ambushed by Fixers. If you managed to deactivate those blockers earlier, it'll slow down the guys on foot, but watch out for snipers in the buildings and more coming from the east alley.

Here's the smart play: Cunning Route

Instead of just pulling out your gun, find some cover behind the railing or the Protector near the box. Use your camera hacks to get a good look at the snipers. You'll notice both of them are standing right next to junction boxes – perfect! Explode those boxes to take them out. This gives you a sweet height advantage over the other marksmen. After that, you can whip out your gun and deal with the remaining snipers as they enter the alley or climb the stairs.

Or, if you prefer: Escape Route

If dealing with the enemies isn't your style, you can totally bail. Just head for the parking garage stairway and make your escape. If you're going this route, jump down the way you originally climbed up, heading towards that blue sign.
