Follow our detailed walkthrough for the 'Down the Sheet Rope' section of A Way Out, guiding Vincent and Leo through the waterworks, locked doors, and a challenging climb.
Walkthrough
- 1After descending the sheet rope, inspect the storage room. Both characters must hold the prompted button to lift the floor grate. Leo drops down first.
- 2As Vincent, find the flashlight on the shelves to the left, marked with "Grab Flashlight."
- 3Drop down to the waterworks. Leo needs to find a valve while Vincent uses the flashlight.
- 4Locate the yellow valve near a large pipe. Vincent shines the light on it, and Leo rotates it using the prompted button to drain the water.
- 5Find the second valve. As Vincent, go left to the end of the walkway and shine the light on the valve near the wall.
- 6To reach it as Leo: drop into the water, go under the opening to the right, and hop over the ledge. Follow the path to the valve.
- 7Once Leo rotates the second valve, the water flow stops.
- 8Transfer the flashlight from Vincent to Leo. As Leo, backtrack from the valve, turn left twice, and follow the corridor to the barred window. Both characters should be at a yellow-marked barred window.
- 9With Leo, walk down the corridor, squeeze past pipes, and follow the tunnel to a door.
- 10As Vincent, backtrack to the same door. Leo interacts with the door, finds a rock, and breaks the lock by pressing the prompted button three times.
- 11Venture to the right of the door to find a double door. Both Leo and Vincent must run into it simultaneously to break it open. Communicate with your partner for this part (e.g., "3, 2, 1, go!").
- 12In the new dark room, Leo leads with the flashlight. Follow the linear tunnels to a lit area with bars above.
- 13At a curved piece of sheet metal, both Leo and Vincent must interact with it to pry it open.
- 14You will reach the bottom of a long shaft. To climb, both characters must stand with their backs against each other and climb using their legs.
- 15Coordinate button presses with a swinging dot prompt. Press the button when the dot is in the yellow (bottom) part of the circle.
- 16Maintain an even height; if one character gets too far ahead, the lower character must press the button to re-synchronize. Take your time and communicate with your partner.
- 17Climb to the top of the shaft.
Tips
- Communication with your partner is crucial for coordinated actions like breaking doors and climbing the shaft.
- When climbing the shaft, ensure both characters maintain an even height to avoid falling.
