Complete walkthrough for Part 20 of Age of Empires III, covering objectives, strategies, and tips for defeating the Mexican army and Boneguard forces.
Walkthrough
- 1Defend your fort against waves of Mexican units using siege weapons positioned on the walls. Keep field guns and rockets at each corner.
- 2Use a priest to heal damaged siege weapons, which is more cost-effective than replacing them.
- 3Send a peasant to rebuild destroyed wall sections or repair standing ones.
- 4Keep an eye on wall health and ensure gates are not destroyed.
- 5When Cooper appears with reinforcements upon the timer's run, a new objective is issued: DESTROY ALL THE MEXICAN ARMY'S TOWN CENTERS.
- 6Send your army to the north-west base and destroy all buildings, prioritizing the Town Center with mortars while soldiers defend against enemy peasants.
- 7The south-east base has two Town Centers. Repeat the strategy: wait for an attack, then send your army to destroy them.
- 8The level is won upon the destruction of the third Town Center.
- 9For the Home City Level 21, you receive 258,772 XP and the CATHEDRAL - EXTENSIVE FORTIFICATIONS card.
- 103.3.3 THE BONEGUARD'S LAIR: Amelia follows Beaumont to his gold claim where a surprise and an old friend await.
- 11Primary Objective: FIND BEAUMONT. This is an RPG-ish mission.
- 12Go east from the starting point until you find another cave entrance where Beaumont is with two Boneguard units.
- 13Objective: DRIVE BEAUMONT AND HIS MEN OUT OF THE MINES.
- 14Kill the two Boneguards and head west for another objective.
- 15When fighting Boneguards, send your unkillable Heroes in first to draw their fire to avoid losing soldiers, except in the final fight.
- 16Secondary Objective: DESTROY THE WEAPONS CACHES (500 XP).
- 17Destroy a weapons cache, kill two Boneguards to the north-west, take down a stockade for three free units, kill two more Boneguards to the north, and send a wagon back to Kanyenke's camp for reinforcements.
- 18Along the southern pass, there are three camps: the western one provides five Cree trackers per wagon, the northern one provides five clubmen, and the eastern one provides two medicine men.
- 19You only need two healers; distribute the remaining wagons between the tracker and clubman camps.
- 20Bring Kanyenke up to join your forces. Send your Cree trackers into the mines, then head west for more enemies, another wagon, and a stockade north of the first mine entrance.
- 21Send this wagon to a camp for more units, then head north once your new units arrive.
- 22North of this location, you will find another weapons cache and more enemies, followed by another wagon.
- 23Caches are guarded by wolves.
- 24There is another weapons cache to the east, along with two Boneguard pistols that boost hitpoints by 30% (give these to Amelia).
- 25Go east to meet Beaumont, then east and south for Boneguard armor (consider leaving this for later) and clubmen in a prison cell.
- 26Head south to where you first met Beaumont, then north-east into the next part of the mines.
- 27Up here, find another guarded wagon. North of this are Boneguard muskets (leave them for later), another wagon, and the Eye of Ornlu (worth 200 XP).
- 28Split your troops into three groups: healers, Cree trackers, and everyone else. Wait for your wagons' units to reach you before proceeding.
- 29To the east, find another wagon and imprisoned skirmishers. South of here is the mine's exit and another cache beyond it.
Tips:
- Building a priest to heal siege weapons is cheaper than replacing them.
- Keep at least one field gun and one rocket at each corner of your walls for effective defense.
