Complete Age of Empires III Part 8 walkthrough covering objectives like saving temples and destroying the Spanish Town Center.
Walkthrough
- 1Start collecting resources from the mine and trees to the east. Build a barracks and max out warriors from the trading post. Move all combat units north-east to the temple.
- 2Move the covered wagon down north of the little river crossing. Build a mill with your seven peasants. Once settlers are farming, open your town center.
- 3Ship in military units and resources. Build peasants from the town center.
- 4Fend off the first major attack from the north-east, destroying the fort wagon before it becomes a fort. Position units east of the north-east temple to block the wagon.
- 5Keep an eye on the timer while building and upgrading your army. Use Home City shipments to bring in peasants. Build an additional ten peasants.
- 6Produce crossbowmen and rodeleros from a barracks in the Aztec village. Keep combat units in the middle of the village for quick response.
- 7Upgrade to the Fortress Age to bring in falconets from your Home City.
- 8Once the counter reaches 0:00, you receive reinforcements and a new objective. Park units east of the eastern temple.
- 9Build a foundry and some mortars, and ship another mortar from the Home City.
- 10Take down one of the Spanish base's two gates. Ranged units can sit south of the eastern gate to mop up Spanish units.
- 11Use mortars to destroy towers and then attack the Spanish town center with your massive army.
Tips
- Don't open the wagon yet.
- Don't go for the treasure north of the map as it's too close to the Spanish base.
- Head south through the middle of the map and east for prisoners beside the red house.
- Head south again, over the river, and west for the last group of prisoners. Take out goons, then the tower.
- The Aztec temples are tough, but the Aztecs aren't great at moving to engage.
- The Spanish send falconets and heavy cannons occasionally, but large numbers of horses and foot soldiers are more concerning.
- If Spanish units approach your town center, ring the town bell until your army can support.
- Use the caravel to target enemies from the water.
- Rodeleros are fast and don't require wood.
- Getting into the Fortress Age quickly allows you to bring in falconets.
- If you save two temples, you get masses of reinforcements.
- The Aztecs will attack on their own if you take down a Spanish base gate, serving as a decoy.
- Buy upgrades and heal your units before attacking the Spanish town center.
- Warning: Save your game before attacking the Spanish base, as a bug may prevent the level from ending if your own town center is under attack when the Spanish one falls.
