Detailed walkthrough for Part 7 of Age of Mythology, covering missions 'Just Enough Rope', 'I Hope This Works', and 'More Bandits', including artifact locations and strategies.

Walkthrough:

  1. Part 7 Introduction: Prepare to advance to the Mythic Age. Build a market and choose a god (Hephaestus is recommended for his 'Vault' god power). Start building Helepolis from a northern castle and create a strong army of Heavy Toxotes and Heavy Hoplites, supplemented by myth and hero units. Be cautious of enemy god powers when approaching the main gate. Use approximately six Helepolis backed by your troops to destroy the main gate.
  2. [8.5] Just Enough Rope: The Trojans counterattack, and Ajax is surrounded. Your objective is to free him and regain control. Walk to Ajax and save him; he should be minimally injured. On your way back to his base, capture an artifact located south by some ruins. Once the base is secured, send most villagers to wood, then begin farming after researching Plow. Do not consume pigs until they exceed 200 food. Build a temple to store artifacts. Another artifact is located southeast past the allied town. Wall off the central pass and build numerous units to prepare for an offensive. Advance to the Mythic Age before initiating the offensive. The computer provides ample time for buildup. With the central pass walled off and protected by Watch Towers, explore north and west, and defend against attacks from these directions. You may claim nearby farms. Gold mines are available northeast and northwest. Build a fortress on the northwest hill to deter invaders. Consider creating more Donkey Caravans to the allied town for trade. Concentrate your forces on the northern gate. Avoid the northwest route due to numerous Towers. Add Helepolis to your army to destroy the northern gate, town center, and fortress in that order. After these structures fall, the remaining enemy buildings are easy to clear.
  3. [8.6] I Hope This Works: Convinced Trojan walls are impenetrable, the heroes plan to use the Trojan Horse for invasion. Send all villagers to wood. Use wood for farms with the Plow upgrade. Keep wood reserves below the Trojan Horse cost until you have around 30 villagers. Upgrade economic technologies (wood, gold, etc.) and collect the artifact to the south to increase cavalry speed. Attempt to intercept all scouts, but do not worry excessively if some escape. If you have
