A complete walkthrough for the Laboratory section of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, detailing item locations, puzzle solutions, and narrative progression.
Walkthrough
- 1From the start, move forward and descend the stairs. Turn right upon reaching the ground and go to the left corner to find a bottle of oil near a fallen shelf.
- 2To the left of the stairs, locate barrels and shelves. Climb the barrels to find another bottle of oil on top of the shelf.
- 3Enter the next room and go down the stairs. To your right, a chest is hidden by crates; open it for a tinderbox. Move the crates to find another tinderbox in the corner.
- 4Proceed to the main room and look right. On a table with equipment, you'll find a note indicating the chemicals have been moved to the Wine Cellar.
- 5On the shelf opposite the equipment table, collect a bottle of oil.
- 6Look into the red grating on the ground to trigger a flashback with Alexander discussing ingredients.
- 7In the other corner of the room, open the furnace to find a tinderbox. Open the drawers of the table in front of the furnace to get another tinderbox and a strange canister that functions as a flashback diary.
- 8Interact with the strange canister to read a personal account about wanting to go home and seeking fair judgment.
- 9After the canister, pick up the Chemistry Pot from the table and read the note there. This note explains that combining four chemicals creates a strong acid.
- 10Exit the Laboratory through the main door, go up the stairs, and through the door to the Entrance Hall.
- 11In the Entrance Hall, move forward, down the stairs, and to the Wine Cellar door.
- 12Use the Wine Cellar Key from your inventory (press TAB to access) to unlock the Wine Cellar door.
Tips
- The strange canister acts as a narrative device, providing backstory and character insight.
- Remember to collect all items as they are crucial for progression and survival.
