Should you move Fior’s people to Thirdborn or Paradis in Avowed?

Alright, so you're at a pretty big crossroads in Avowed, dealing with the aftermath of the Ancient Soil quest. You've spoken with Quilicci, Yatzli, and the governor, and now you've got a crucial decision to make: where do Fior's surviving animancers go? Your two options are Thirdborn or Paradis. Both have their own set of issues, but one might edge out the other, especially considering a choice you might have made earlier in the Shatterscarp region.

You can actually save the city of Fior mes Iverno by raiding the Steel Garrote camp located east of the Wildwoods Outskirts Party Camp, behind a waterfall. This choice is separate from where the animancers end up, but it's good to know you have that option!

Choosing Thirdborn

At first glance, Thirdborn might seem like the more sensible pick. In Paradis, animancy isn't exactly welcomed with open arms, mainly because of the increasing Aedyrian influence there. Thirdborn, on the other hand, has a better history of taking in folks who need a new home and generally finding common ground. During my own playthrough, I leaned towards Thirdborn because the Steel Garrote were already causing trouble in Paradis, and I didn't want to add to that mess.

Heads up: There's a significant choice later on in the 'Shadows of the Past' quest. Depending on what you do, it could lead to several deaths in Thirdborn, and unfortunately, some of Fior's refugees could be among them. So, while it seems like a good option now, keep that future consequence in mind.

Choosing Paradis

Here's the surprising part: sending the animancers to Paradis isn't a bad move at all. They can actually set up shop pretty close to where the Steel Garrote are, which is interesting. And even though Fior's people won't be able to openly practice animancy there, they can still make a positive contribution, like helping out with Dawnshore's crops. Honestly, this decision doesn't drastically change the game's ending, so either Thirdborn or Paradis is a viable choice if you're aiming for a positive outcome. That pretty much sums up the dilemma for Fior's animancers!
