Alright, let's get you prepped to take on King Ashkhanar in Blades of Fire. This guy's a proper boss, not just some regular grunt, so you'll want to go in ready. He hits like a truck, so keeping your distance is key. A long-reach weapon, especially a Thrust-based Spear with good Penetration, is your best bet. Polearms can work, but you'll need to be super sharp with your dodges.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Recommended Weapon: Thrust-based Spear (focus on Penetration)
• Keep your distance.
• Dodge rolling to the right is effective against his Double Slam.
• Regular dodges are better than rolls for his Spin Combo.
• Dodge side-to-side to avoid Paralysis Hands.

Phases:

1. Double Slam: Ashkhanar leaps and slams his axe, then spins for a second slam. This hits hard, especially from range. Dodge to the right to avoid both hits.
2. Spin Combo: A multi-hit combo ending in two spins. Each hit is slow but powerful and will break your guard. Don't roll through these; use regular dodges to weave through each strike.
3. Paralysis Hands: From a distance, he slams his axe, sending out four waves of paralysis hands that snake towards you. Getting hit slows you down, leaving you vulnerable. Dodge side-to-side to avoid them. If you do get caught, immediately start walking out of the affected area to break free and avoid follow-up attacks.

Strategy:

• First things first: deal with the Queens Hounds! Either take them out yourself or lure them into Ashkhanar's path so his big swings take care of them.
• Patience is your best friend here. Ashkhanar's attacks are slow but pack a punch. After most combos, especially the Spin Combo, he'll need a moment to recover his stamina. This is your window to get in a charged thrust and then back off to dodge again.
• Once you get the hang of his slower attacks, fighting him at mid-to-close range can actually be beneficial. It discourages him from using his Paralysis Hands as much, which can be a fight-ender if you're caught.
• Don't get greedy with your hits! Always keep an eye on your Stamina. It's often better to dodge multiple attacks than to try and squeeze in one more hit and get caught.
• Remember, even though he can end you quickly, King Ashkhanar, especially the first time you fight him, is more manageable than he seems once you learn his attack patterns.

Locations:

• Aecides’ Domain - Doyen Graves: Found after the gate opened by a switch, near the Gazebo of Solitude anvil.
• Northern Hiss City: In the central courtyard, before heading to the Central Hall. Make sure to clear out other enemies first.
• King’s Bastion - West Tower Cells: Ascend to the top of the southeast tower.

Defeating all three versions of King Ashkhanar unlocks the Forger Scroll for the Great Axe Polearm.
