Alright, so you've made it to Thalmudak, Athanatois' Unconquerable Czar, and he's looking pretty tough, right? Don't sweat it! This is the real deal, not that earlier practice round where he was basically invincible. He hits hard with that golden Trollslayer Greatsword, but honestly, his attacks are pretty telegraphed, making him easier to dodge than you might think. He's got some quick teleports and nasty lightning moves, but we'll get you through it.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Basic Attacks & Telegraphs

   Thalmudak will start with his more common moves. Pay close attention to his wind-ups. The key here is learning his patterns so you can punish him effectively.

2. Phase 2: Enhanced Attacks & Combos

   As the fight progresses, he'll start mixing in his more dangerous abilities, like the Teleport Charge and Lightning Storm. Staying mobile and reacting quickly is crucial.

Strategy:

• Jumping Slam: He'll do an overhead slam, then jump for another. Dodge to the side for the first, then dodge or run behind him for the second. This is your prime opportunity to get some charged or normal attacks in. He uses this a lot, so get used to punishing it!
• Sweep Combo: He swings his greatsword side-to-side. You can dodge just as the attack lands or roll backward to avoid both hits. This is his bread-and-butter attack when he's not doing something fancy. You'll see this and the Jumping Slam constantly.
• Lightning Slam: Watch for him to hover and glow purple. He'll then slam his sword down, sending lightning bolts out in all directions. Get some distance, find a gap between the bolts, and just wait it out. He might do this a few times in a row.
• Teleport Charge: This is a tricky one, especially when he's powered up with lightning. He'll blink right in front of you and immediately attack (usually a sweep or slam). The best defense is to dodge the instant you see him shimmer and appear. The charge itself does minor damage, but the follow-up attack can hurt.
• Sword Throw: Sometimes after a Sweep Combo, he'll throw his sword. If you're moving, it usually misses. You can actually run over and attack him while he's reaching for his sword, as he'll be briefly stunned.
• Leaping Sweep Slam: He starts with a sweep, then tosses his sword up, jumps to catch it, and slams it down where you are. Dodge the initial sweep, then quickly run behind him as he lands the big slam.
• Lightning Storm: This is his big one. He turns into a purple orb, flies to the center, and unleashes a massive wave of lightning bolts across the arena. Then, his sword gets charged, and he'll shoot lightning beams at you. Your best bet is to get to the back of the arena and just keep moving. Weave between the bolts and dodge the beams. When the bolts hit the back wall, they'll wrap around, so stay aware. After all that, he'll do a final lightning-imbued sword slam – just dodge to the side.
• Weapon Choice: Seriously consider using the Trident. Its quick thrusting attacks are perfect for getting hits in during the small openings you create, especially after dodging his bigger moves.
