STR4 - Shotguns

Alright, so you're having a bit of trouble with shotguns in Call of Duty 4, huh? I get it, especially with all the lag people complain about in MWR. Don't worry, I've put together a quick guide to help you get the hang of it.

First up, you gotta pick your poison. I'm a big fan of the W1200 myself, but the M1014 is totally viable too. For this guide, we'll focus on the W1200.

W1200 Setup

• Weapon: W1200
• Secondary: Anything
• Grenades: Stun/Frag
• Perk 1: Bandolier
• Perk 2: UAV Jammer OR Double Tap OR Stopping Power OR Juggernaut
• Perk 3: ExCon

For your Perk 2 slot, you've got a few good options. If you're going for a stealthy Ninja Shotgunner build, UAV Jammer is your best bet, and it pairs nicely with ExCon (Extreme Conditioning). Double Tap can be useful because it cuts down the time you spend pumping the shotgun between shots. Stopping Power isn't strictly necessary, but it can be helpful sometimes. Even though shotguns have a set range, Stopping Power boosts the max damage at the very edge of that range, giving you a bit more leeway. And if you're constantly getting lit up before you can get close enough for a kill, Juggernaut is definitely the way to go.

Now, how you play really depends on how much lag you're dealing with in a match. Here's the deal: find an enemy, get right up in their face – like, a few feet away – and aim dead center. If you nail them with your cursor perfectly on them while they're moving, just keep doing that. If you miss slightly, try aiming just to the side of them, in the direction they're moving. For those super tight spaces, like in the 'Dance of Death' map, aim way off to the side they're heading towards.

This technique, known as 'lagshooting,' is crucial for shotgunners because shotguns are super sensitive to lag. Honestly, becoming a great shotgunner takes practice and a good dose of determination. There's not a ton more I can tell you; the rest you'll just have to figure out on your own.
