Alright, so you've made it this far, and now it's time to tackle Objective 3: Enter the city of Stalingrad. This is where things really heat up, as you'll be playing as Corporal Alexei Voronin of the 13th Guards Rifle Division. Just a heads-up, this mission starts with a bit of a rough landing – literally. The Red Army's situation is dire, and Joseph Stalin's Order #227 is in full effect: retreat without orders means being shot as a traitor. No pressure, right? As you cross the Volga River by boat, a commissar will read out the orders. Listen closely, but don't get too comfortable. German Junkers Ju 87 'Stuka' dive bombers are going to show up, and they're not here for a friendly visit. Artillery will start raining down, and many of your fellow conscripts will try to jump overboard. If they do, the commissars will gun them down. Seriously, it's brutal. Try to stay on the boat. Once you reach the docks, you'll be given either a rifle or just a clip of ammo. You'll likely get the clip, so be prepared to make every shot count. The Germans have MG42s set up on the hill, and they'll be cutting down the poorly-armed conscripts pretty quickly. You'll want to find cover behind a stone wall. That's where you'll meet Sergeant Borodin, a sniper. Borodin's going to use you as bait, so be ready for that. He'll need you to run out to draw fire so he can take out the MG42 gunners. First, dash for a truck, then an overturned car. He'll manage to take them out, but it's risky business. After that, he'll tell you to get into a house. Keep an eye out, because a commissar might try to shoot you for falling back – Borodin will take care of that for you. Your next step is to link up with a radioman. Borodin will tell him they desperately need artillery support. Once that's secured, you'll see a massive barrage from across the river. This is your chance! The artillery will clear the way, allowing the Soviets to push forward and begin the counterattack on Red Square. Good luck out there!
