Changeling [BOSS2]

Master the Changeling boss fight in Control Resonant! Learn the tactics for each phase, from trapdoors to bomb placements, to secure victory and the Sacred Bell of Order.

Alright, so you've made it to the Corrupt Official Magistrate's throne room. Looks like a boss fight is about to start, right? Well, not quite! Don't attack the magistrate. Instead, just walk up to him, and you'll trigger a trapdoor that drops you into the dungeon below. That's where the real fight begins. Find the prisoner and toss a bomb next to them to kick off the Changeling boss battle!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• The Changeling can ONLY be damaged by bombs. Your sword won't do anything here, so don't bother.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The Horizontal Beam

   The Changeling will pop up in the middle of the room and fire a horizontal electrical beam. Your job is simple: as soon as they appear, quickly place a bomb near them and then get out of the way. You'll need to do this three times. After the third hit, they'll announce they're defeated... for now.

2. Phase 2: Horizontal and Vertical Beams

   After Phase 1, you'll need to bomb the cracked north wall if it's not already broken. Head through the opening into the next room. You'll see a chest in the center. Don't try to open it – that's the Changeling in disguise, and it'll hurt you! Instead, bomb the chest. This triggers Phase 2. It's pretty much the same as the first phase, but now the Changeling will fire beams both horizontally AND vertically. Just like before, bomb them three times to advance the fight.

3. Phase 3: The Diagonal Blast

   After Phase 2, head back into the room with the stools. Look at the bottom left; you'll see two stools. This is the final puzzle. Place a bomb above the right stool. The explosion needs to hit the left stool diagonally. Nail this, and the Changeling will finally be defeated for good.

Strategy:

• Always keep moving to avoid the electrical beams.
• Prioritize bomb placement over trying to attack directly.
• Be patient; the pattern is straightforward once you get the hang of the bomb timing.

Once the Changeling is down, head north out of the room. You'll find two buttons. Press both to rescue the third builder and the true magistrate. After that, you can collect the Sacred Bell of Order!
