This section provides information about Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, an expanded version of Dead or Alive 5. It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 and includes new features from Dead or Alive 5+, along with new and returning characters and stages. An arcade version, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Arcade, was released in Japan on December 24, 2013. This game was followed by Dead or Alive 5 Last Round in February 2015.

Pre-Release Information:

A new Dead or Alive 5 project was teased on April 28, 2013, revealing the addition of Momiji and a Ninja Gaiden-themed stage, Sky City Tokyo. The game was officially named Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate on May 7, 2013, with a September release date. It was confirmed to include features from Dead or Alive 5+, such as tutorial mode, custom soundtracks, and new costumes. Later trailers showcased battles between Kasumi and Momiji, and confirmed the return of Leon, Ein, Jacky Bryant from Virtua Fighter, and new stages like Lost World and Forest. It was also clarified that Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate would not be compatible with the original Dead or Alive 5 or Plus online due to new moves like the Power Launcher and netcode changes. Further trailers revealed Leon, Rachel from Ninja Gaiden, and new stages like Aircraft Carrier, completing the roster announcement.
