Game Structure

devil may cry 5 is a mission-based game, meaning you explore separate, self-contained levels that may contain secrets.

You can progress through the main story by moving from one mission to the next sequentially.

The Main Menu offers options like Mission Select, allowing you to replay any missions you have already finished.

Note that you can only replay missions on difficulties you have already completed; for example, you cannot play Main Mission 01 on Devil Hunter if you've only finished it on Human.

Within missions, the general objective is to move from point A to point B while fighting enemies.

Secret Missions are short, optional tasks found during regular missions that reward you with Blue Orb Fragments.

Before starting any mission, you can purchase new skills from Nico using Red Orbs, which are the in-game currency acquired during missions.

Each of the three playable characters has their own unique set of skills that do not transfer between them.

Only Blue and Purple Orbs carry over between characters. Nico also has a limited stock of these for sale.

Most missions are assigned to a specific character; for instance, Nero is used for the Prologue and the first three missions, after which another character takes over.
