Tips
- Front Command should be your first pick, especially if you also pick targets like Protector with Taunt, units that have the Great Warrior Buff, or against enemies that are you are certain will use an AOE skill.
- Great Warrior is a great buff if the target can survive the increased enemy targeting. Protector, Hero, Highlander, and a Landsknecht that isn’t using Vanguard make for excellent users of the Great Warrior buff.
- If you don’t want to counterattack, Bolt Slash is perhaps your main objective.
- Second Sword is not so useful unless you want to learn Echoing Slash, as it doesn’t make the Shogun normal attack twice.
- If support is your goal, grab Great Warrior and level it as much as you can afford it (TP cost-wise), as the 60% physical attack buff is very good. Note that it does not benefit from Proof of Nobility from Sovereign.
- Front Command is good to learn if you have an aggro unit (like one buffed by Great Warrior). Note that all of the Shogun’s dual-wield skills use weapon element - so having Sovereign is a boon.
- Bolt Slash(1) is just for conditionals and Avidya Sight (4) is typically obtained because you will literally have nothing else to spend points on. Echoing Slash can be decent when you don’t want to use or can’t use Front Command, but is generally unnecessary.
- Second Sword does reduce Damage, so if you lack a tanky DPS (Hero, Landy without Vanguard buff, Imperial not charging a Drive, Highlander) or Protector, then using a Ronin with a decent level of Clear Stance investment or a Shogun with a high level of Second Sword investment can be your “Great Warrior/Front Guard” targets.
- Taunt Assassins is often skipped because it can lead to overleveling, and the game already gives plenty of EXP.
