Walkthrough

    Beach Encounters: Battle Adamantoise on the beach to Mug a Whisper (teaches Quistis White Wind Limit, not available through Card Mod (a community-made modification that changes the game)).

    Forest/Cliff Encounters: Fight Anacondaur in forests or near cliff bases for Dragon Skins (Drop is more likely on Level 30+ Anacondaur), needed for Zell's higher-level weapons.

    Triple Triad Rule Manipulation:

    Change Triple Triad rules in Dollet to remove unfavorable rules like Random.

    Ideally, use Galbadia rules with Open spread. Play the girl near the car rental area (in red) until a rule changes or she stops asking.

    If Same spread, Elemental abolished, or nothing happens, reset.

    If Open spread or Random abolished, return to Timber, challenge the entrance guard, decline rule mixing until he stops asking, then play a game to regain Galbadia rules.

    After returning to Dollet, save your game and try to abolish Random. If it doesn't work after two or three tries, use sure-fire methods (click here). Keep Elemental for now.

    If you sent the Queen to Dollet, play her upstairs in the pub until she uses the 'All' Trade Rule. Do not play any more games with her for now.

    Timber Maniacs Issues:

    Rent a room at the Hotel in Dollet to find an issue.

    Go back to the Timber Maniacs building and speak to the man outside. Encourage him to become a journalist by choosing "No way". This must be done before the end of the disc to obtain a strictly limited item.

    Find another Timber Maniacs issue upstairs in the pub.

    Pub Owner's Secret Room:

    Beat the pub owner (left side of the screen upstairs) in Triple Triad.

    Follow him to his secret room and speak to him to receive 5x Geezard Card, 4x Red Bat Card, 3x Buel Card, 2x Anacondaur Card, and a Cactuar Card.

    Play him in his private room to win the Siren Card.

    Occult Fan II:

    Examine the magazine piles near the door in the pub owner's private room.

    Each examination has a chance to yield items, including Occult Fan II. You can only get one.

    If you receive three items without Occult Fan II, exit and re-enter the room and try again. You must leave and re-enter after every three items.

    Dollet Bone Quest:

    Starts in the Artist's House (south of the pub, where the Queen of Cards' son lives). Recommended to wait until Disc 3 due to poor rewards now.

    The Item Shop and Junk Shop are down the street from the pub (window says "Nautilus"). Browse the Item Shop's inventory.

    Play cards with people around town. No one can play Level 5 Cards.

Tips
  • Consider saving your game in the pub for Triple Triad rule manipulation (unnecessary in the Remaster).
  • The Whisper from Adamantoise teaches Quistis the White Wind Limit and is not available through Card Mod.
  • Dragon Skins from Anacondaur are a Drop and are more likely on Level 30+ enemies.
  • Encouraging the man outside Timber Maniacs to become a journalist is a missable action available only until the end of the disc.
  • The Dollet Bone Quest rewards are poor at this stage of the game.
  • Card Modding the MiniMog Card after winning it back yields 100x Pet House, which are best sold for Gil.
