Navigate the Missile Base in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, avoiding SeeD Rank deductions and preparing for the boss fight.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
After a scene, enter the only building with a door.
  2. 2
Examine the card reader next to the left-hand door for a scene. Choose any option; "Walk by quietly" yields the most positive response, but "Try to sneak by" and "Act casual" provide humorous dialogue without impacting SeeD Rank.
  3. 3
Continue until you reach a room with a Save Point (a place to save your game). Use it if desired. The exit is to the left of the stairs you entered from.
  4. 4
Speak to the maintenance soldiers for a scene.
  5. 5
Return to the Save Point room and go through the northern door.
  6. 6
Tell the soldiers here "to go on ahead."
  7. 7
Return to the maintenance soldiers and speak to them.
  8. 8
Go back to the lone soldier you passed just after entering (the one where you had three different options for passing him). Speak to him, then go inside.
  9. 9
Use the Blizzara Draw Point (a point from which you can draw magic spells) if you wish.
  10. 10
Examine the controls and choose any options.
  11. 11
Exit the room. When confronted by soldiers, choose "...Try to talk my way out," then select options that do not involve fighting, as fighting will result in significant deductions to your SeeD Rank.
  12. 12
Return to the Save Point room. Use the Save Point if you wish.
  13. 13
Head towards the console in the upper-right corner.
  14. 14
A soldier will speak to you; choose "Play it cool," then "Help out." All other options are considered fighting.
  15. 15
Examine the launcher and repeatedly press Square until it falls into place.
  16. 16
    Speak to the supervising soldier.
  17. 17
Use the invisible Full-Life Draw Point on the left side of the screen, in front of the missile launchers.
  18. 18
Go back to the Save Point room and examine the control panel.
  19. 19
Select "Error Ratio." Raise it as high as it goes by holding Right until it stops increasing. Warning: If you do not max out the Error Ratio, you will receive a Game Over later.
  20. 20
    Choose "Upload Data."
  21. 21
Exit the computer and speak to the guard on the right side of the screen.
  22. 22
Before entering the next room, check your Junctions (equipment that allows you to link magic spells to your stats). It is recommended to Junction Bio to Elem-Atk (elemental attack) and any ST-Def (status defense) you can. Junction Ice- or Lightning-elemental spells to Elem-Def. For ST-Atk, Silence infliction is highly effective due to its 100% infliction rate on the main enemy.
  23. 23
If any character lacks Reflect magic, move your Reflect spells to characters with the lowest Magic stat.
  24. 24
Give someone the Mug ability (an ability that allows you to steal items from enemies).
  25. 25
Enter the next room for a mandatory boss fight.

  • Choosing dialogue options that avoid combat is crucial for maintaining your SeeD Rank.
  • Fighting random enemies within the Missile Base is pointless and offers no benefit.
  • Junctioning Silence to ST-Atk is highly recommended for the boss fight due to its 100% infliction rate.
  • Ensure characters with low Magic stats have Reflect spells Junctioned to them to allow higher-Magic characters to Draw spells more effectively.
  • The invisible Full-Life Draw Point is located on the left side of the screen, in front of the missile launchers.
  • Maxing out the "Error Ratio" is a critical step to avoid a Game Over.
