Learn how to conquer all Paralogues in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This guide covers common and route-specific battles, offering strategies for victory and valuable rewards.

This section is specifically for Paralogues as it would be difficult to fit them into the main walkthrough. Paralogues also tend to give hero relics namely for the character in that paralogue or other good rewards and all give renown and motivation for MVPs. Some paralogues are restricted to specific routes due to character restrictions. There are paralogues only available after the time skip.

Please note: Paralogue helps are only for up to Hard difficulty. On Maddening difficulty, enemy ambushes can move immediately, enemies have higher stats, and your experience gain is lower, making paralogues much tougher. Please read through the sections below if you are playing on Maddening.

Paralogues unlock once 1 or both of the characters are recruited. Your rewards also vary depending on whether you have one or both. Paralogues each also have a deadline after which they are no longer available.

Many paralogues are locked to specific routes and some cannot happen at all on certain routes even with the characters in question. The below Paralogues are sorted by common and route specific.

Common route Paralogues/All routes part 1

The Forgotten

This one requires Sylvain in your house. This battle will let you have 11 units including Sylvain. During this battle there will be 4 enemy commanders each of whom has an exit point behind them from which enemy units with items will attempt to escape. To close the exits you need to defeat the enemy commanders to prevent to cut off the enemy escape routes.

The enemies carrying items will always avoid attacking your units and simply run away to the exits. Once the exits are closed you can easily eliminate them so ignore them for the time being and focus solely on defeating the gate keepers. The items each enemy is carrying are typically very valuable.

Your own units are split into 2 main groups on either side of the battle field. Be sure to manage the unit placement before the battle to ensure both sides are equally balanced and efficient. In the middle of the battlefield is a catapult like object which can be used by any unmounted non-mage to fire on enemies within range.

Aim to kill all enemies and not let any escape so you can get a large reward (extra large bullion plus all the stuff the enemy is holding.)

Sword and Shield of Seiros

For this mission you will need either Shamir or Alois or both (Having both will get you one extra battalion) in your house. Alois joins in chapter 11 so you will need to do it immediately after recruiting him as it is right before the deadline IF you care about the extra battalion.

You will need to keep enemies out of a town and eliminate them all. The enemies who enter the town must be taken down in 5 turns or you lose. For the most part this battle is simple as you simply need to split up your team and guard the entrance or have one lead an assault on their ships. HOWEVER, the enemy possesses Wyvern riders as such they can fly over the ocean and barriers of the town and come straight in, so it is heavily advised to leave a sizable or capable group of allies in the town, particularly archers and mages who can easily deal with the Wyverns and other enemies.

Your unit is split into 3: one on each of the entrances to the town and one in the center of town. Advance both units from the gate as you move to eliminate the enemies in the grass area and ships. Be sure to leave a few particularly long-range attackers (Archers are best for this) to shoot down any Wyvern riders heading into town. Lastly, on the unit heading towards the ships, be sure to have a healer with Physic a distance away as there are many enemies on the ship and it is very easy for a unit to be surrounded and overwhelmed.

Land of the Golden Deer

You need Lorenz in your house for this one. During this battle you will have a number of objectives and limitations. Firstly, you will need to protect your base; there is a single pink square at the center of it, and should an enemy unit land on it, you will lose. The biggest threat are Pegasus Knights, as they can fly over the walls, so keeping archers or mages nearby is a handy tactic.

I also highly recommend 1 or 2 effective healers with Physic as the enemies on this map greatly outnumber you and can come at you from all sides if not careful.

There are 2 drawbridges that lead to the enemy, however, you should avoid lowering them the second you get to one, as that will cause the enemy to come through them as well. Instead, leave them up and force the enemy to circle around.

The enemy has 2 units on the far right and left on the battlefield carrying valuable items. At some point, they will be ordered to bring them to the enemy side marked by 2 pink squares on this end; if they reach it, the items and the units will escape.

To win you need to either kill the enemy commander or survive until round 12. Mind you, winning the battle and killing all enemies is doable if you are accurately prepared (I recommend a lot of heavy hitters and archers plus at least one extra cavalry). There are more than 20 enemies though, so you will need to be quite strong to win.

The best effective strategy is to eliminate all the enemies within the immediate area around the fort in front, on the left and right sides, including the item-holding one. Once their gone, you can position yourself to strike down enemies coming across the rivers. Eventually, you will corner the commander and finish the battle.

However, regardless, as long as you repel the enemies near the fort, you can win without needing to go after the commander by simply holding your ground. Alternatively, once the enemy across the river leaves the commander by his lonesome, you can bring down the drawbridge and finish him.

For winning this battle, you will get a Staff Hero relic.
