Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head back to the staircase and find the ammo box directly across from it, behind a wall.
  2. 2
Proceed down the alleyway and take (cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects)) behind a wall after the next corner.
  3. 3
Defeat the Boomer and any other Locusts.
  4. 4
Move to the right of where the Boomer was and hop over the low (cover).
  5. 5
Behind the broken fence, take (cover) behind the car.
  6. 6
Repeatedly tap X to move the car until it stops.
  7. 7
Take (cover) behind the block to the right of where the car stopped.
  8. 8
Equip grenades and throw one onto the platform to defeat the enemy there.
  9. 9
Take (cover) behind one of the three blocks.
  10. 10
Defeat any enemies that approach, including Wretches hiding behind the low (cover).
  11. 11
Once all enemies are defeated and the hole seals, proceed forward until a Point-of-Interest icon appears.
  12. 12
Before heading to the gate, go straight from your current area towards some mailboxes between two trees to find Cog Tag (CT15).
  13. 13
Move towards the Point-of-Interest to activate a (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)) and end this section.
  14. 14
For the Outpost (A24) section, walk forward until a (cutscene) starts.
  15. 15
For Lethal Dusk (A25), head to the end of the section near the fire and kick open the door on your right.
  16. 16
Continue through the old house until you reach the end of a hallway with a door you can kick open. There are no enemies.
  17. 17
Kick open the door and immediately head straight forward to take (cover) behind the low wall.
  18. 18
Equip your shotgun to defeat the Locust that runs towards you.
  19. 19
Use your pistol to shoot the propane tank in front of the door of the shack directly in front of you.
  20. 20
Switch to the Lancer, hop over the wall, and run to the shack door. Rev up the chainsaw and enter to kill the sniper.
  21. 21
Switch to the Longshot. If playing on Casual, you may keep the Lancer, but on harder difficulties, the Longshot is practically a requirement.
  22. 22
Head to the right of the shack (facing it from the way you came in). Kill the Locust with a shotgun near the block with a tree in the center.
  23. 23
Proceed forward, hugging the wall until you reach some stairs, and head down them.
  24. 24
At the bottom of the stairs, turn the wheel until you reach the end. If you keep dying, hop off to kill enemies or take (cover) to regain health.
  25. 25
Head up the stairs and proceed until you reach two NPCs who say, "Stay there! We're coming over! Stay under the light!".
  26. 26
Head into the shacks to the right to stock up on ammo. A Longshot is available here if you didn't pick it up earlier.
  27. 27
Proceed through the house, kicking open doors. There are no enemies.
  28. 28
Outside, shoot both propane tanks: one directly in front of the car and another way over to the right.
  29. 29
Take (cover) behind the car in front of the propane tank to the right of the first car.
  30. 30
Defeat any close enemies with the shotgun and snipe any far enemies.
  31. 31
Head forward until you reach a dark area. Look to your left to see a shed with a propane tank. Shoot it.
  32. 32
Enter the shed to find Cog Tag (CT16).
  33. 33
Turn around and shoot the propane tank to the left of the car.
  34. 34
Take (cover) behind the car. If you have the Longshot, try to snipe the Troika.
  35. 35
If you cannot snipe the Troika or have the Lancer, run forward and shoot all propane tanks (one is in the indent in the wall to the left, and another is to its direct right when taking (cover) behind the cabinet). Then, toss a grenade at the Troika.
  36. 36
On the left is an opening. Head through here.
  37. 37
Go through the building. The door to the last hallway before leaving the building has a Wretch that bursts out.

Tips:

  • On Insane difficulty, it is recommended to take (cover) behind a wall rather than a car when facing the Boomer.
  • The Longshot is practically a requirement on harder difficulties for the Lethal Dusk (A25) section.
  • If your health gets dangerously low during the wheel-turning sequence, take (cover) until it regenerates.
  • If you are using a weapon other than the Longshot for long-range engagements, assume
