Unlock all the Gears of War achievements in Part 31, including weapon kills, Dom-related feats, and reviving teammates. Master these challenges for full completion.
Walkthrough
- 1A Series of Tubes (20 Points): Host and complete 50 Ranked games. This is time-consuming but not difficult.
- 2Dom-Curious (10 Points): Complete one chapter playing as Dom. Easiest to get by playing the Tutorial on Casual difficulty and joining co-op games.
- 3Domination (20 Points): Complete ten chapters playing as Dom. Playing on Casual with a friend makes this quick and easy.
- 4I Can't Quit You, Dom (30 Points): Complete all Acts playing as Dom. Utilize Casual co-op and ask a Marcus player to restart on an easier difficulty if needed.
- 5Don't You Die On Me (10 Points): Revive 100 Teammates in Ranked Matches. To revive, stand next to a downed (but not exploded/chainsawed) teammate and press X. Hitting A rapidly when downed can help you survive longer for a revive.
- 6Fall Down Go Boom (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Boomshot. Find the weapon, aim, and fire.
- 7Pistolero (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with a pistol. Find a pistol, aim, and shoot, preferably from medium range.
- 8The Nuge (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Torque Bow. Use cover and charge the bow before aiming. Note that a downed enemy stuck with the Torque Bow will not die.
- 9I Spy With My Little Eye (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Longshot. Find a high vantage point and aim. Headshots are one-hit kills at long range. For closer encounters, an Active Reload shot can down an enemy, allowing for a kill during reload. To set up an Active Reload, pick up the Longshot, fire a shot, switch weapons, then switch back and reload quickly. Three downs on a player in Execution mode with a low bleed-out time can result in an automatic kill.
- 10Don't Hurt 'Em (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Hammer of Dawn. This weapon can kill enemies behind cover. Be aware that obtaining and using the Hammer of Dawn can be difficult due to game pacing and weapon balance.
- 11It's a Massacre (10 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Chainsaw. While initially seeming difficult, it becomes easier after pursuing other weapon achievements. Avoid cheap tactics like sneaking up on enemies.
- 12Curb Appeal (20 Points): Kill 100 enemies with the Curb Stomp. A shotgun blast to the knees can knock enemies down for a Curb Stomp (X over a crouched, alive person).
Tips
- For Dom achievements, playing on Casual difficulty and joining co-op games significantly speeds up the process.
- Reviving teammates requires proximity and pressing X. Rapidly pressing A when downed can increase survival time.
- Weapon-specific achievements often benefit from finding advantageous positions (e.g., high ground for the Longshot) and understanding weapon mechanics (e.g., charging the Torque Bow, Active Reloads).
- For the Chainsaw achievement, focus on direct engagements rather than stealth for a more satisfying completion.
- The Curb Stomp requires an enemy to be downed or crouched; a shotgun blast can facilitate this.
