- When engaging the marines, staying back in the shaft and using the pistol to shoot them through the floor grate while they are on the other side of the room is a safer approach than getting within shotgun range.
- The maneuver to land on the pipe with the open section by leaning on the 'Move right (strafe)' key before the rail car stops is tricky and may not work in the Source version.
- When jumping from the rail car onto the ledge, moving to the back of the rail car before it stops and throws you might allow you to land on the pipe with the open section.
