Guide to Homeworld Mission 6: Defeat robot sentries called Movers using EMP technology, protect your fleet, and salvage a damaged Mover for research.
Walkthrough
- 1The fleet is hyperspaced to the Karos Graveyard without warning and is immediately attacked by robot sentries called 'Movers'.
- 2The Movers aggressively target the Corvette class ships. All Corvette crews dock their craft except for one Pulsar Corvette Squadron.
- 3Build Scouts and research a new technology called 'EMP' (Electro-Magnetic-Pulse).
- 4Equip the EMP technology to the Scouts and send them to fire EMP blasts at the Movers to disable them.
- 5This allows the Frigate and Capital Class ships to attack the disabled Movers without taking significant damage.
- 6While this is happening, the Oracle charges the Mothership's hyperspace core and jumps a short distance.
- 7The fleet catches up to the Mothership and defends against incoming Movers.
- 8Torpedo Frigates continuously fire torpedoes at the Movers to slow their assault.
- 9The Mothership's sensors detect a damaged Mover and order a Resource Collector to salvage it.
- 10Once the two active Movers are dealt with, the Resource Collector brings the damaged Mover back to the Mothership for study.
- 11After analysis, research is conducted on how to counter the Movers, making them easier to defeat.
- 12The Oracle charges the core again for another jump to a large Hulk in the distance.
- 13The rest of the fleet rushes to the Mothership's location.
- 14The Mothership's drives engage, moving towards the Hulk.
- 15Upon arrival at the Hulk, the Oracle communicates with it, causing the Movers to cease their attacks and power down.
- 16With the threat neutralized, the Mothership and its fleet hyperspace to their new destination: The DreadNought Berth.
Tips
- Prioritize researching EMP technology for your Scouts as soon as possible to effectively counter the Movers.
- Use Torpedo Frigates to keep the Movers at bay while your EMP Scouts are charging or engaging.
- Protect your Resource Collector when it goes to salvage the damaged Mover.
- Once research on countering Movers is complete, they become significantly less threatening.
