Missing Staff-Bot Quest

Complete the Missing Staff-Bot quest in Job Simulator. Learn how to locate and retrieve the critical bot in the new Basement area to ensure facility operations.

This quest becomes available after completing the "Hotel Room" task. A critical Staff-Bot has gone missing, and it's up to you to locate it and bring it back to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. This quest will lead you to a new area: The Basement.

Detailed Walkthrough

1. Initiating the Search

After finishing the "Hotel Room" task, the main monitor in your workspace will display a new alert regarding a missing Staff-Bot. Interact with the monitor to accept the quest. Your helpful supervisor bot will provide some vague clues about unusual activity near the lower levels.

2. Accessing The Basement

The entrance to The Basement isn't immediately obvious. Head to the main lobby area, specifically near the reception desk. Look for a maintenance panel on the wall behind the desk. It's usually a grey panel with a blinking red light.

• Item Needed: You'll need a Universal Access Keycard to open this panel. This keycard can be found in the "Laptop" area, specifically on the desk next to the coffee machine. If you haven't picked it up yet, backtrack there.
• Action: Use the Universal Access Keycard on the maintenance panel. This will reveal a hidden elevator or a set of stairs leading downwards. Interact with the newly revealed access point to descend into The Basement.

3. Navigating The Basement

The Basement is a dimly lit, somewhat cluttered area. Your primary goal is to find the Staff-Bot, which has likely malfunctioned or gotten stuck. Keep an eye out for glowing blue lights, as these often indicate active bots or their components.

• Initial Exploration: Upon entering, you'll notice several storage shelves and discarded machinery. The Staff-Bot is not immediately visible.
• Power Issue: The lights in a section of The Basement are out. To proceed, you'll need to restore power. Look for a large Power Conduit Box on the far wall, near a stack of old server racks.
• Solving the Power Puzzle: The Power Conduit Box requires three Power Cells to restore full functionality.
  1. Power Cell 1: This cell is located on a high shelf directly above the Power Conduit Box. You'll need to use a nearby Step Stool (found near the entrance, by a pile of crates) to reach it.
  2. Power Cell 2: This cell is hidden inside a broken Ventilation Unit on the floor. You'll need to pry open the grate. A Crowbar can be found leaning against a large pipe on the opposite side of the room.
  3. Power Cell 3: The final cell is lodged inside a Junk Compactor. To retrieve it, you'll need to activate the compactor briefly to shift the junk. The compactor's control panel is on its side; press the red button. Be quick to grab the Power Cell once it's exposed, before the compactor resets.
• Restoring Power: Insert all three Power Cells into the Power Conduit Box. The lights will flicker on, illuminating the rest of The Basement.

4. Locating the Staff-Bot

With the lights on, you can now clearly see the missing Staff-Bot. It's in the far corner of The Basement, tangled in some old wiring near a leaking pipe.

• The Staff-Bot's Condition: The Staff-Bot is partially deactivated and emitting small sparks. It appears to be stuck.
• Freeing the Bot: You'll need to carefully untangle the wiring. Interact with the wires around the Staff-Bot. There are three specific points where the wires are snagged. Gently pull each wire free. Be careful not to pull too hard, or you might accidentally damage the bot further (though this won't fail the quest, it might trigger some humorous dialogue from your supervisor).
• Repairing the Bot: Once freed, the Staff-Bot will still be non-functional. You'll notice a small access panel on its back. Open it. Inside, you'll see a disconnected Logic Chip. The Logic Chip is lying on the floor directly next to the Staff-Bot. Pick it up and reinsert it into the designated slot within the Staff-Bot's access panel.

5. Returning the Staff-Bot

Once the Logic Chip is reinserted, the Staff-Bot will power back on and stand upright. It will automatically begin to follow you.

• Escorting the Bot: Lead the Staff-Bot back through The Basement, up the elevator/stairs, and into the main facility.
• Designated Area: Your supervisor bot will instruct you to bring the Staff-Bot to the "Bot Recharging Station" located in the main office area, near your personal workstation. Guide the Staff-Bot into the glowing blue circle of the recharging station.

Upon successfully placing the Staff-Bot in the recharging station, the quest will be complete, and your supervisor bot will thank you for your diligent work. You'll receive a small bonus of 50 Job Points for your efforts.
