Kirby's Dream Land Stage 1 walkthrough: Grab the key, find Energy Spheres, and defeat the Sphere Doomer.
Walkthrough
- 1Charge right, following the signs, until you reach a door.
- 2Enter the door and follow the path to find a key.
- 3Touch the key to pick it up. You cannot use abilities or fly while carrying it.
- 4Press 1 to throw the key; holding it longer increases the arc.
- 5Carry or throw the key to the locked gate and touch it or hit the gate with it to open it.
- 6On the other side, grab the first [Energy Sphere] (a collectible item).
- 7Continue until you reach a stone block. Discard your current ability and use the super inhale to eat the stone block, revealing a 1-up (an extra life).
- 8Take the upper path to a bridge. Press down to drop below it.
- 9Grab the stars and food, then follow the path up a ladder to the door at its end.
- 10Charge forward and eat the big sparkly guy to gain a super ability, allowing you to destroy things with glowing stars.
- 11Continue on, destroying the landscape.
- 12When you reach a large rock formation covered in Waddle Dees (enemies), smash it to open a star gate.
- 13Enter the star gate for an auto-scrolling section.
- 14Keep running right. The purple substance will push you but not hurt you. You can spit stars at it to temporarily deter it, but the main strategy is to keep moving.
- 15A good strategy for auto-scrolling sections is to inhale a large object, spit it out, and chase it to clear the path.
- 16Enter the door at the end of the auto-scrolling section.
- 17Select either the Fire or Sword ability.
- 18Move on and prepare to fight a miniboss.
- 19Blast the Sphere Doomer (a miniboss) to bits to get 2 [Energy Spheres].
- 20Continue on, grab the tomato, and jump into the gate.
- 21After resurfacing from the monochromatic swim, continue on.
- 22Go through the final door to finish the stage.
Tips
- The signs provide a non-intrusive tutorial method.
- Throwing the key can be an effective way to open the gate if you have trouble carrying it.
- The super ability allows you to break specific obstacles.
- Keep moving during the auto-scrolling section; the purple substance is a hazard that pushes you.
- Chasing a projectile you spit out can help clear the path in auto-scrolling segments.
- The Sword ability is preferred by some for the upcoming miniboss fight.
