    As you enter the stairwell, turn right and approach the Infected enemy. The game will provide a tutorial on backstabbing, a special attack executed from behind an enemy for significant damage. This is easier when the enemy is unaware, but can be performed during combat with practice.

    Defeat the pair of Infected and collect the Audio Note (Tales of Old: Three Heroes).

    Follow the platform at the top of the stairs to the left. Behind a brazier, you'll find a chest containing an Armour Set (Cleric/Rogue/Warrior).

    Proceed down the first flight of stairs and fight the Marauder.

    At the bottom of the next flight of stairs, enter either of the two doors. These lead to interconnected small rooms. Defeat the Infected in each of the end rooms.

    In the left-hand room, loot an Audio Note (The Rhogar: Villager Notes).

    Return to the stairwell. From the level with the doors, look towards the statue in the center of the room.

    Backtrack to the starting room of the game. From the top of the stairs, head to the right-hand side (when looking down).

    From the rubble of the railing, look across to a small circular platform built into the wall on the right, marked by a curtain above it. This is a hidden area. Run and jump from the rubble to reach this platform.

    Once inside the hidden area, collect the Ghost Merge Shard from the stairs.

    Climb the stairs and at the top, roll/jump across the hole in the floor.

    Use the Northern Monastery Wing Door Key to open the door.

    Inside, collect the item to acquire the Shard of Heroes. This item can be used later to obtain a powerful class-specific weapon.
