First off, you need to make your way to the Catacombs. Once you're in the Cell Circle area, keep an eye out for the cells. You're looking for a specific one that has a bunch of lit candles inside. It's usually a couple of cells to the left of where you'd find the Infected Monk's cell.

When you spot the cell with the candles, get ready to use your shield. You'll want to use your shield charge ability to break down that weak wall. Don't worry, it's designed to be broken!

Once the wall is down, you'll find an Altar inside. Loot the Heirloom Hammer from it. Sweet!

Now, this hammer isn't just for show. You'll want to take it to a special sarcophagus to upgrade it. Head back to the main junction room in the Catacombs – you know, the one with three exits that connects the starting Checkpoint Crystal to the Royal Tomb and Mines area.

From that junction, go into the small Mines area. It's usually the first door you encounter on the left. If you haven't already, you can also grab an Audio Note (Kyle’s Sword) in this same spot.

Interact with the sarcophagus in this room to use the Heirloom Hammer and get your upgrade.

Tips

Don't confuse the Heirloom Hammer quest with the Tor Hammer quest; they're separate!
Make sure you have your shield equipped and ready for the shield charge to break the wall.
The sarcophagus for the upgrade is in the Mines section, so don't get lost looking for it in the Royal Tomb area.
