    You'll find the Infected Monk locked up in a cell within the Cell Circle area of the Catacombs. He'll ask you to end his suffering.

    To do this, you need to activate a lever next to his cell, but the handle is missing.

    Head to the opposite side of the Cell Circle. Look for a wooden door near a statue and a large decorative lever. This large lever is actually for the boss arena for The Champion fight, but the wooden door nearby is what we need.

    Enter that wooden door. Inside, you'll find the Lever Handle item. Grab it!

    Now, backtrack to the Infected Monk's cell. Use the Lever Handle on the broken lever next to his cell. This will open the cell doors.

    Go in and defeat the Infected Monk. Doing so will net you 1,500 XP and a Spell Point Shard.

    After you've dealt with the monk, head through the door to the right of where the lever was. Inside, you'll find a Shield (Buckler - Blocker).

  • Make sure you grab the Lever Handle before trying to open the monk's cell, otherwise, you'll be running around in circles.
  • Don't forget to check the room to the right of the lever after defeating the monk; the Buckler shield is a nice little bonus.
