Alright, let's talk about getting Legion on your crew in Mass Effect 2. He's a pretty unique squadmate, and definitely worth having around. You'll find him during the main story, but there are a couple of things you need to do to make sure he joins you.

How to Recruit Legion:

• First off, you absolutely cannot turn Legion over to Cerberus when you first encounter him. Make sure you keep him with you.
• Just like Grunt, you'll need to activate him to get him to join your squad.

Legion's Loyalty Mission:

Legion's loyalty mission is called 'Geth Consensus'. Unlike most other squadmates, who might require a few conversations or specific missions beforehand, Legion can open up his loyalty mission pretty much immediately if you're at the right point in the game. This is important to note if you're aiming for the 'No One Left Behind' achievement, as you'll want to complete loyalty missions like Legion's before heading into the Omega 4 Relay. You generally only have one or two missions left before you absolutely have to go through the Omega 4 Relay to save everyone.

Legion's Combat Effectiveness:

Legion is a powerhouse, especially against other synthetic enemies like Geth or Harvesters. His combination of weapons and drones makes him effective against pretty much any enemy type. Here's a quick rundown of his stats and abilities:

• HP: 230
• Geth Shield: 350
• Weapon Damage Bonus: +25%
• Power Recharge Time Reduction: -25%
• Primary Weapons: Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle

Legion's Powers:

• AI Hacking (Rank 3): Useful for disabling enemy synthetics.
• Attack Drone (Rank 4): Deploys a drone to attack enemies. Its usefulness can vary depending on the difficulty level.
• Geth Assassin (Rank 4): A powerful offensive ability.
• Geth Shield Boost (Rank 2): Can improve his damage, but it's often hard to find the right moment to use it effectively in the heat of battle.

Notes on Using Legion:

While Legion has strong weapon choices, some of his powers are a bit less useful. The Attack Drone can be hit or miss depending on the difficulty. The Geth Shield Boost is a good idea in theory, but in practice, you'll often find yourself needing to use AI Hacking for emergencies or focusing on his drone, leaving little time to activate the shield boost.
