Full walkthrough for the M4 mission in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Learn how to destroy comms equipment, secure diamonds, extract prisoners, and more.
Walkthrough
- 1Head to the first yellow waypoint for a scene with Big Boss downloading information.
- 2Go to the Eastern Communications Post.
- 3Identify the comms equipment (three satellite dishes on small buildings or canopy structures, marked by a glowing blue light).
- 4Plant C4 at the base of each satellite dish.
- 5Move to a safe distance and detonate the C4.
- 6Alternatively, locate the communications control panel inside a building in the middle of the compound.
- 7Shoot the radio or plant C4 on it to disable communications.
- 8If choosing the C4 option, detonate it from a safe distance to distract guards.
- 9To complete Mission Task 3, find the rough diamonds on rocks south of the outpost via a hidden path accessible by climbing a cracked wall. Look west of the Wormwood on this path.
- 10To complete Mission Task 5, extract 2 prisoners from Wialo Village. They are in buildings in the southern section, not together. Clear the area, sneak in, carry them outside, and extract them.
- 11To complete Mission Task 6, extract one of the two materials containers at the outpost using the Cargo 2 Fulton upgrade.
Tips
- Extracting the puppy found near the LZ at the start of the mission will result in it growing into a buddy for later missions.
- Destroying the comms equipment is mandatory, but you only need to complete one of the two mandatory tasks (destroying comms equipment or transmitter). The other becomes optional.
- Shooting the radio or planting C4 on it inside the communications building is an easier method for an S Rank.
- Using C4 to destroy the comms equipment allows for a distraction, aiding in escape.
- The diamonds are on a rock on the hidden path to the outpost.
- The prisoners are inside buildings in the southern part of Wialo Village.
- You need the Cargo 2 Fulton upgrade to extract the materials containers.
