Struggling with M49: Occupation Forces (Subsistence) in Metal Gear Solid V? Start with nothing and face two tanks! Learn how to Fulton extract them and complete this tough mission.

Alright, so you've hit up M49: Occupation Forces, but the Subsistence version. This one's a bit of a curveball because you're dropped in with basically nothing – just your binoculars and your trusty Fulton Device. No Buddy, no supply drops, no support attacks, and forget about the Chicken Hat or Reflex Mode. It's just you and the elements.

The mission itself is pretty much the same as the original Occupation Forces, but starting from scratch makes it way tougher. You've got a couple of tanks to deal with, and you can't bring any gear in. Your main goal is to get those deployment plans and, more importantly, eliminate the colonel. You can also extract the colonel and all the tanks if you want to make things easier, and honestly, that's probably the smartest way to go about it, especially since you still have your Fulton Device.

Since you know the colonel and the tanks are coming your way, you can use the environment to your advantage. The best bet is to find an enemy soldier and use them as a temporary roadblock. While the tanks are stopped, sneak up behind them and use your Fulton Device to extract them. It might take a couple of tries, but it's way better than trying to take them head-on with nothing.
