How to Beat Horde Mode: Brute & Armored Brute

Defeat Mordhau's Horde Mode Brutes. Exploit headshot weaknesses and kiting tactics against these heavily armored, slow-attacking mini-bosses.

The Brute and Armored Brute are mini-bosses in Horde Mode. They are heavily armored, wield powerful two-handed weapons (often a Maul or Greatsword), and have a large health pool. The Armored Brute is even tougher, with full Tier 3 armor. Their attacks are slow but devastating. Weaknesses: Headshots are crucial. Aim for their unarmored head if possible. They are also susceptible to being kited and surrounded. Strategy: Do not try to duel them head-on, especially alone. Focus fire with ranged weapons if available. If engaging in melee, use fast weapons to land quick hits and immediately retreat. Dodge their slow attacks and try to get behind them for backstabs. Coordinate with teammates to stagger them or create openings. Firebombs can also be effective for sustained damage. Prioritize them when they appear, as they can quickly decimate your team.
