Need to build a Crane Lift for Rocky in My Time at Sandrock? This guide breaks down all the materials you'll need, how to get them, and how to use the lift once it's built.

Alright, so you've got a job to do for Rocky: build him a Crane Lift. This means we'll be heading to the Eufaula Salvage yard to dig through a bunch of scrap piles. It's right up the hill from your workshop, so it's a great spot to visit daily. While you're at it, Mi-an actually suggests building a furnace before the crane – it's super useful for later quests, so why not get a head start?

To actually craft the Crane Lift, you'll need these specific materials:

Now, all those materials are made from other stuff, so let's break down the total resources you'll need to gather:

• 32 Stone
• Copper Scraps (grab as many as you can, since Copper Sticks are a random drop)
• 24 Plant Fiber
• 30 Wood or Wood Scraps (Wood Sticks are also random drops)
• Mechanical Scraps (again, get plenty, as Bearings are random drops)

How to Make Thick Rope

First things first, you'll need the recipe for Thick Rope from the Commerce Guild shop. It'll set you back about 18 Gols, though the price can shift a bit. To make the rope itself, you'll need a good amount of Plant Fiber. You craft Thick Rope at a worktable.

You get Plant Fiber from plants and bushes around Sandrock. You can either chop them with your axe or just gather them by hand. Since you need 4 Plant Fiber for each Thick Rope, and you need 6 Thick Ropes, that's where the 24 Plant Fiber total comes from.

How to Get Bearings

Bearings are found by recycling Mechanical Scraps. You can mine these scraps from various piles over at Eufaula Salvage. Once you've got a stash, toss them into your Recycler. Just a heads-up, the drops are random, so you might need to recycle more scraps than you'd expect to get the 4 Bearings you need for the Crane Lift.

How to Get Copper Sticks

Right now, your best bet for Copper Sticks is recycling Copper Scraps. Later on, you'll be able to use the Processor with Copper Bars, but for this quest, stick to the Recycler. You can find Copper Scraps in the scrap piles at Eufaula Salvage Yard, especially in the Mixed Junk Piles and Copper Scrap Piles. Recycle those scraps, and hope for the best to get your 5 Copper Sticks!

How to Get Bricks

There are a couple of ways to get Bricks. You can try recycling Stone Scraps in the Recycler, but again, it's a gamble. If you've got a ton of Stone Scraps, it might be worth a shot. The more reliable method is to put Stones in a furnace. You'll need 4 Stones for each Brick, so that's 32 Stones total for the 8 Bricks required. Luckily, Stones are super easy to find; just look for gravel stones near your workshop and mine them with your pickhammer.

Using the Crane Lift

Once your Crane Lift is built, grab it and head back to Eufaula Salvage to install it at the Abandoned Ruins. Completing this quest gets you a nice reward: 600 Gols, +20 Workshop Reputation, +10 Rocky Relationship, and +300 Experience. Plus, you'll finally be able to explore the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins, which means new ores and items to find! You'll also unlock the 'Mining Time!' side quest right after this.
