Learn how to farm in My Time at Sandrock! This guide covers crafting the Basic Planting Kit, planting Sandrice, and harvesting your first desert crops with Zeke.

Alright, so you've helped out with the Moisture Farm, and now Zeke's got another task for you – it's time to get your hands dirty and learn about desert planting! Basically, it's farming, Sandrock style. He'll send you a letter with the recipe for a Basic Planting Kit, so keep an eye on your mail.

Once you've got that recipe, you'll need to craft the Basic Planting Kit at your Workbench. Here's what you'll need:

After you've got your kit, head back to Zeke at the Moisture Farm. He'll give you a quick rundown on how desert planting works. The key thing to remember is that the desert sand is super dry, so you'll need to lay down a straw grid for each plant. Don't worry, Zeke will give you a starter pack: +3 Straw and +3 Sandrice seeds. Your first mission? Harvest 3 Sandrice plants!

To get started, head back to your workshop and equip that Basic Planting Kit. Put it on your hotbar so you can easily switch to planting mode. Once you're in planting mode, first select the straw and lay down your straw grids on the ground. Then, switch to your Sandrice seeds and plant them on the grids. Make sure you do this for all three seed bags.

Next up is watering! You'll need a water barrel for each plant. You can either buy them or, if you've got a water tank, extract 3 water barrels from it. If you're planning on doing a lot of farming, you'll definitely want to figure out your water situation!

It'll take a few in-game days for your Sandrice to mature. Just keep an eye on them, and once they're ready, harvest them. Then, report back to Zeke. You'll be rewarded with the Flashy Desert Defender Goggles, +500 Experience, +80 Gols, and +15 Reputation. Nice!
