[8.7]. Mission 7 - Carrington Institute: Defense

Right after the intro cutscene where Joanna swipes a weapon, you'll be in a room with a giant Skedar. Strafe to the right and take it down. Then, turn left, run past those brown doors, and hop on the elevator to your right.

At the top, hit the Combat Boost, head right, and go through the door. You'll find guards holding hostages. Take them out, then leave the room and immediately enter the one next door. Quickly deal with the guards in here to free more hostages.

Head back to the elevator and go down to the lobby. You'll see two sets of brown double doors, one on each side of the elevator. Go right, towards the last brown door on your right. Work your way around the room, taking out the guards to save as many hostages as possible. The more you save, the better!

Exit that room and go left, towards the other set of brown double doors. Inside, eliminate the guards and free the remaining hostages. Once this is done, your first objective, releasing the hostages, will be complete.

Now for objective two: retrieving the experimental weapon. In that same room where you just freed the last group of hostages, you'll see a weapon in a glass case next to a computer desk. Interact with the case to grab the experimental weapon and complete this objective.

Finally, it's time to deactivate the bomb. Head back to the lobby and find the ramps leading down, near where you started the mission. Take them all the way down and through the halls. At the end, make a left, cross the helipad, and run to the Ship.

Use your Data Uplink on the Ship to download the virus. This is time-sensitive, so once the download is complete, turn around and sprint back through the hallway you just came from. Keep to the right side, and go through the door at the very end on your right. This will complete your third and final objective.
