Protection is vital for mitigating damage from puppets, players, and environmental hazards. Armor in SCUM comes in various forms:

• Improvised Armor: Crafted from animal hides, rags, or scrap metal. Offers basic protection.
• Civilian Clothing: Provides minimal protection but can offer warmth and camouflage.
• Military Armor: Vests, helmets, plate carriers. Offers significant protection against ballistic and melee damage. Found in military zones.
• Riot Gear: Helmets, body armor. Good against melee and blunt force.

Armor has durability and can be damaged. Higher-tier armor often reduces movement speed and stealth. Always aim for head protection, as headshots are often instant kills. Layering clothing can also provide additional warmth and minor protection.
