Beyond raw combat prowess, Sifu offers two key mechanics that can be significantly enhanced through shrine upgrades: Focus and Weapon Durability. Mastering these aspects can provide a substantial edge in combat, allowing for more strategic plays and extended weapon usage.

Focus Upgrades: Focus is a meter that builds up as you successfully land attacks and parry enemy blows. Once filled, it allows you to enter a "Focus Mode," which slows down time and enables powerful special moves, including the ability to instantly dodge attacks or execute devastating finishers. Shrine upgrades can directly impact your Focus meter in several ways:

• Focus Gain: Some upgrades increase the rate at which your Focus meter fills, allowing you to access Focus Mode more frequently.
• Focus Meter Capacity: Other upgrades increase the maximum capacity of your Focus meter, meaning you can store more Focus for a more potent or prolonged use of Focus Mode.
• Focus Consumption: Certain skills unlocked via shrines might also alter how much Focus is consumed by specific moves, making them more efficient.

Investing in Focus upgrades can dramatically change the flow of combat. It allows for more precise counter-attacks, safer dodges through dense enemy formations, and the ability to execute powerful takedowns that can clear out groups of weaker enemies quickly.

Weapon Durability Upgrades: As discussed in another section, weapons in Sifu have limited durability. Shrine upgrades can offer ways to mitigate this limitation:

• Weapon Durability Increase: Some upgrades might offer a passive bonus to the durability of all weapons you find, making them last longer.
• Weapon Durability Recovery: While less common, certain skills or shrine paths might offer ways to slightly recover weapon durability during combat, though this is rare.
• Weapon Mastery: Certain upgrades might not directly affect durability but improve your proficiency with weapons, allowing you to deal more damage before durability becomes a critical issue.
