The parry is arguably the most crucial defensive mechanic in Sifu. Mastering its timing is not just about survival; it's about controlling the flow of combat and creating openings for devastating counter-attacks. The parry window is tight, but with practice and understanding, it becomes second nature.

Understanding the Parry Window

A successful parry occurs when you press the parry button (usually L1/LB) just as an enemy's attack is about to connect. A perfect parry will deflect the attack, stagger the enemy, and often leave them vulnerable for a follow-up strike. A mistimed parry will result in you taking damage or being put into a vulnerable state.

Visual and Audio Cues

Pay close attention to the visual and audio cues provided by enemies. Each enemy type has distinct attack animations and sound effects that precede their strikes. Learning to recognize these tells is paramount:

• Enemy Stance: Observe how an enemy positions themselves before an attack. A slight shift in weight or a raised weapon often signals an incoming strike.
