Silent Hill: Origins firearms guide detailing weapons like the Target Pistol, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and the powerful Redeemer. Learn their stats and uses.

Target Pistol

The Target Pistol is the first firearm you find near the beginning of Silent Hill: Origins. It has a Power rating of * and can hold a maximum of 6 rounds of ammo. Use it for normal enemies and don't worry too much about conserving ammo.

Shotgun

The Shotgun is most effective at close range but still effective from a distance. It has a Power rating of *** and can only hold 2 shells at a time, requiring frequent reloads. Its Max Ammo is 2.

Service Pistol

The Service Pistol is slightly stronger than the Target Pistol and holds more ammunition. It has a Power rating of ** and a Max Ammo capacity of 8.

Hunting Rifle

The Hunting Rifle offers good power at both long and short ranges, making it suitable for boss fights or larger enemies encountered later in Silent Hill: Origins. It has a Power rating of **** and a Max Ammo of 4. While generally useful, conserve rifle ammo when moving through the building where Travis first finds this weapon.

Assault Rifle

The Assault Rifle, along with the Redeemer, is considered one of the most powerful weapons in Silent Hill: Origins. Its rapid-fire capability combined with high damage per shot leads to dramatically increased damage output. It has a Power rating of **** and a Max Ammo of 16, but consumes ammo quickly, so use it sparingly.

Reedemer

The Reedemer is the most powerful weapon in Silent Hill: Origins, a magnum that deals the most damage per shot. However, its ammo is rare. It has a Power rating of ***** and a Max Ammo of 6. Save either the Reedemer or the Assault Rifle for boss fights.

Tesla Rifle

The Tesla Rifle features rapid fire but not high power per shot. Its main advantage is infinite ammo, making up for its lower damage rate. It has a Power rating of ** and an infinite Max Ammo (--). To obtain the Tesla Rifle, you must achieve the UFO endings and save the clear file afterwards to start a new game with it. Use it freely on enemies during your clear game playthrough.

Finishing an Enemy

Many enemies in Silent Hill: Origins can be finished with a finishing blow. Stand over a defeated monster and press the X button to perform a finishing move. The animation depends on the weapon equipped. Travis can also stomp on enemies without a weapon. Using a finishing blow with a weapon that has health will cause it to take damage. Using a finishing blow with a gun consumes one shot if the gun is loaded.

Some enemies, like the Remnant and Caliban, cannot be hit with a finishing blow and will die automatically once enough health is depleted. All enemies can still be killed by dealing enough damage while they are grounded.
