Complete Part 28 of Spyro: Year of the Dragon, including Gavin, Shemp, and Hunter's rescue mission challenges.
- 1Collect the final two rings (110, 120) and then the tractors to finish the course.
- 2Press the 'X' button twice to take flight.
- 3Flame the space cow on the island ahead (130), then flame the other three making easy turns (140, 150, 160).
- 4Take the winding path to collect the last four rings (170, 180, 190, 200).
- 5Find the bi-planes path and fly the opposite way to collect all the rings. If you struggle, take the normal path and chase them. If your flying skills are not good, practice collecting the rings at locations (225, 250, 275, 300, 325, 350, 375, 400).
- 6After seeing the '400/400' sign, you will be told you have won.
- 1Choose 'Race the flying pigs' from the challenge menu.
- 2Flame your opponents to slow them down and use blue stars for speed pickups.
- 3Fly through red stars to pick up a missile in your mouth and fire it at an enemy ahead with the 'O' button to slow them down.
- 4Aim to be at least third by the start of the second lap and at least second by the final lap.
- 5Come in first place to win.
- 1Choose 'Time Attack' again from the challenge menu.
- 2Fly to the center of the course and drop to the ground near the old barn.
- 3Go through the opening to find Hunter.
- 4Agree to try Hunter's shooting challenge by selecting 'Fine then'.
- 5You will take control of Hunter on his jetpack. Your movement is on a white circle, and Hunter moves by himself.
- 6Shoot all space cows and sheep saucers as soon as you see them. If you don't shoot them in time, a cow will shoot a farmer or a saucer will abduct one.
- 7At two points, sheep saucers will gang up on you; shoot them quickly to prevent them from getting too close and causing you to fail.
- 8One shot from a sheep saucer won't harm you, but two will kill you.
- 9Once all space cows are killed and sheep saucers are destroyed, the challenge is complete.
After completing the challenge, head back to Midday Garden and use the whirligig to choose 'Evening Lake'.
Before arriving, you will experience another cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a pre-rendered animation).
You should approximately have: 6150 Gems, 71 Dragon Eggs, 9 Skill Points, 45% completion.
Spike's Arena
You will first see the 'Spike is Born' cutscene. (NOTE: If you don't see this cutscene, you have a different version of the game. It can only be seen with a cheat code in some versions).
The Sorceress transforms a Rhynoc into a giant monster with a blaster gun, named Spike.
- Hunter's rescue mission is described as his second favorite challenge in the game and is pretty easy.
