Part 65

Master Spyro: Year of the Dragon's toughest challenges! Learn strategies to defeat Spike, the Spider Queen, Evil Chinese Dragons, Scorch, and The Sting Ray of Doom.

Boss Fights:

1. Spike
   • Found: In a specific area of a level.
   • Egg: 072/150 (Monique, White)
   • Objective: Defeat Spike.
   • Strategy: Hit Spike with two mines to win.
2. Spider Queen
   • Found: At the end of Spider Town.
   • Egg: 082/150 (Tootie, Blue)
   • Objective: Defeat the Spider Queen.
   • Strategy: Avoid her initial spiky ball attack. When she stops, shoot her head repeatedly. Ignore the smaller spiders that emerge. Continue this pattern until she is defeated.
3. Evil Chinese Dragons
   • Found: Fireworks Factory, accessible via glide from a bell tower.
   • Egg: 097/150 (Evan, Orange)
   • Objective: Destroy the two evil Chinese dragons using the S&SMPUE (Superfly + Superflame Mega Powerup Unlimited Experience).
   • Strategy: This is a challenging aerial combat sequence. Use the unlimited powerup to pursue and destroy each dragon. Focus on one dragon at a time, avoiding their superflame attacks. As dragons take damage, they become faster. Maintain focus, especially on the final parts of each dragon.
4. Scorch
   • Found: Scorch's Pit, accessed by selecting 'Midnight Mountain' from Evening Lake.
   • Egg: 107/150 (James, Brown)
   • Objective: Defeat Scorch.
   • Strategy: Scorch attacks with fireballs and summons enemies. Collect red orbs for fire bullets and green orbs for fireworks. Use these to attack Scorch when he is vulnerable. The fight progresses through phases with increasing enemy types, including crabs, TNT guys, mini-suns, and eventually Buzz. Defeat Buzz by charging him into the lava. Continue attacking Scorch until defeated.
5. The Sting Ray of Doom
   • Found: Starfish Reef.
   • Objective: Defeat The Sting Ray of Doom.
   • Strategy: Initially, dodge or shoot the curving mines. Get behind the boss and charge around him to avoid attacks. Shoot him to deplete his health. When he splits into two, maneuver and strafe to avoid their attacks and the baby manta rays they spawn. Shoot the two larger rays to deplete their shared health, racing back and forth as needed.
