Walkthrough:

  1. Start: Immediately after the first drop, look for red SSX signs on either side. The left sign leads to a grindable rail that rejoins the main path.
  2. Steep Ice Turn Shortcut: After a series of turns and a Luther billboard, you'll encounter a steeply banked ice turn. Board left, up the embankment, and onto an ice path. This leads to an upper ice path with a difficult jump. Successfully clearing this jump leads to three ice tunnels.
    • Top Tunnel: Leads to a very long ice tunnel that exits near the ice river.
    • Middle Tunnel: Leads to another long ice tunnel, then a rail to some upper ice canyon ledges, and finally rejoins the main course.
    • Bottom Tunnel: A short tunnel that bypasses the next set of turns, returning to the main path.
Additionally, to the left of these tunnels, a red SSX sign can be jumped to from the same ramp, leading to more rail grinds that connect to the next shortcut's ramps.
  3. River Jumps: Two ramps jump over a river. The far-left ramp leads to an upper ice path with jumps that bypass the narrow ice river section. Other ramps bypass a sharp turn and return near the river. A rail to the right of the river can be ground if caught from the jump.
  4. Split Level & Raised Blocks: Past the river jumps is a split level with small ledges. After this, a snow ledge on the right leads to raised ice blocks that enter a tunnel. This tunnel is higher and easier than the regular path. After a banked right funnel, you'll bypass sharp turns and exit the ice tunnels.
  5. Cavern Shortcut (Gaz's Contribution): After the mogul run, you'll hit a frozen riverbed. The last island has a rail leading into a cavern. This rail leads to an elevated ice path through the caverns, exiting just before the cave exit and trick boost. This path is narrow (about six feet wide) and has no sides, making it easy to fall off. Slow down and proceed steadily after the entry rail to shave about five seconds off your time.
  6. Ice Caves: Various paths within the ice caves (identifiable by stalagmites) cut through the regular path. These are risky but shorter.
  7. Exiting Ice Caves: Cut left after exiting the ice caves to skip sharply banked turns by skiing in the powder to the left of the normal track.
  8. Alaska Halfpipe & U-Turn: After jumping a large pit, you reach Alaska's
