Entering the Forest and Initial Exploration

Upon entering the Whispering Forest from the Resulian Plains, you'll immediately notice the dense foliage and the eerie quiet. Your primary objective here is to reach the village of Myiddok, but there are several detours worth taking for valuable items and experience.

• Follow the main path north. You'll soon encounter your first new enemy type: Forest Wolves. These creatures are fast but have low HP. Use Fidel's Stalwart Blade or Miki's Healing to keep your party healthy.
• Just a short distance in, on your left, you'll find a small alcove containing a treasure chest. Open it to receive Blueberries x3.
• Continue along the main path. You'll come across a fork. Take the western path first. This leads to a dead end with another treasure chest containing Blackberries x2.
• Return to the fork and take the eastern path. This is the main route forward.

Navigating the Northern Sector

As you delve deeper, the forest becomes more labyrinthine. Keep an eye out for hidden paths and listen for enemy sounds.

• You'll encounter more challenging enemies here, including Forest Goblins. These enemies can cast minor elemental spells. Prioritize taking them down quickly, perhaps with Fidel's Shotgun Blast.
• After a short climb, you'll reach an open area. To your immediate right, behind a large rock formation, is a hidden treasure chest. Inside, you'll find a Strength Potion.
• Proceed north. You'll cross a small, gurgling stream. On the other side, look for a sparkling item on the ground near a large tree stump. This is a Fresh Sage.

The Eastern Passage and Myiddok's Approach

After the cutscene, your path will be clearer towards Myiddok. However, there's still one more section to explore for valuable resources.

• From the cutscene location, head east. You'll encounter a new enemy, the Giant Hornet. These flying enemies are susceptible to ranged attacks. If you have Victor or Fiore in your party, utilize their skills. Otherwise, Fidel's Air Slash can be effective.
• Follow this eastern path until you reach a small, elevated ledge. Climb up to find a treasure chest containing Iron x2. This material will be useful for Item Creation later.
• Descend from the ledge and continue east. The path will begin to widen, indicating you're nearing the forest's edge.
• Before exiting, look for a small, overgrown path leading south. This leads to a secluded area with a challenging optional enemy: a Dire Wolf. Defeating it will reward you with significant EXP and a chance to drop a Wolf Fang, a rare crafting material. Be prepared for a tough fight!
• Once you've explored thoroughly, continue east. You'll soon see the path open up, leading directly to the entrance of Myiddok.
