Mission 12: Recover Explosive Warhead

Prioritize charging your lasers into shields and maximizing your laser recharge rate. Begin by destroying the mines. Once the minefield is clear, disable the stationary freighter. Your shuttle will then hyperjump in to capture it. However, enemy shuttles and transports will arrive to attempt their own capture and will attack you. Engage these enemy shuttles carefully to avoid collisions. After dispatching the shuttles, destroy the transports. Upon the freighter's safe departure, your mission concludes. Return to base to witness a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) showing the recovered warhead being used to destroy the Invincible. For your success in destroying the Invincible and securing Sullustan support for the Rebellion, Mon Mothma will award you the Corellian Cross, your first tour medal.

Mission 1: Rescue from Star's End

Mytus VII, known as "Star's End," is a perilous prison world where rescue attempts are frequently thwarted. You must act quickly as two pilots have hidden aboard an ore freighter that an Imperial patrol has stopped for inspection. A transport carrying stormtroopers is about to board and discover your allies. First, eliminate the fighter escorts to ease the destruction of the transport. The critical part of this mission is destroying the transport without damaging the freighter. Position yourself alongside the freighter to target the docked transport without hitting the freighter itself. Concussion missiles can be used if necessary, but lasers are effective. Ensure your tail is clear to avoid being shot down.

After destroying the transport, focus on the waves of fighters and interceptors that will target you and your wingman. While the fighters are less threatening, the interceptors can be troublesome. Watch out for a trio of bombers that will attack the freighter; destroy them before they launch their torpedoes. Another wave will follow, so destroy that one as well. If no fighters breach the screen, the SHU Drago will hyperjump in, complete its capture operation, and depart. Remain vigilant for any fighters that approach and harass the shuttle or freighter, and eliminate them. Eventually, the freighter will be captured and will hyperspace away. Continue fighting through the waves of fighters and interceptors, as they tend to focus on you, allowing the freighter to escape. Once the freighter is safely away, your mission is complete.

Mission 2: Rescue Wookie Slaves

Craft: X-Wing group Red (you - Red 2), Y-Wing group Blue, TRN Rescue 1

Objectives: TRN Rescue 1 must complete mission, FRT Toral must be boarded

The pilots you rescued provided valuable intelligence about a secret Imperial weapons project and the transfer of Wookies en route to it. Freeing them yields more information and aids your comrades. The Empire has deployed the Assault Gunboat, a formidable foe equipped with lasers, ion cannons, concussion missiles, and shields, making it a match for your forces. These gunboats are hyperspace-capable. Engage them cautiously, as they tend to slow down when their shields are nearly depleted, and ramming them is extremely dangerous. After defeating the gunboats, destroy the TIE defenses and identify the freighter. The Y-Wings will then engage while you deal with support waves of fighters from the Intrepid, which will keep you occupied. During this time, your rescue team will hyperjump in, board the freighter, and escape. You can then eliminate any remaining TIEs or head back to base.
