He's a pretty significant roadblock in Leyndell, Royal Capital, and you absolutely have to beat him to get to the Mountaintops of the Giants. Don't worry, I'll walk you through it. ## Background Morgott, like his twin brother Mohg, was born an Omen, cursed with horns and spurned by the Erdtree. Despite this, Morgott remained fiercely loyal to the Erdtree and Queen Marika. He even took on the guise of Margit the Fell Omen to defend the Erdtree from other demigods who sought to become Elden Lord after the Shattering. He wields Morgott's Cursed Sword, which he kept encased in stone like a cane. ### The Shattering After Queen Marika shattered the Elden Ring, Morgott claimed one of the Great Runes and defended Leyndell. He saw himself as the protector of the Erdtree, even though it wouldn't admit him as Elden Lord. He fought off many challengers, including other demigods, under the name Margit the Fell Omen. ## Boss Fight This is where things get serious. Morgott is a tough fight, and you'll need to be prepared. He's a Demigod and a Shardbearer, so expect a challenge. ### Phase 1 Morgott starts Phase 1 with a mix of sword attacks and Omen magic. He'll use his Cursed Sword for sweeping attacks and thrusts. He also throws cursed blood projectiles and can summon spectral daggers. Keep an eye out for his leaping attacks, which can cover a lot of ground. ### Phase 2 Once you get Morgott down to about half health, he'll enter Phase 2. This is when he really ramps up the pressure. He'll start using more powerful holy attacks, including raining down a barrage of golden spears and performing a devastating grab attack. He can also summon a massive golden sword for wide, sweeping attacks. This phase is all about dodging and finding small openings to strike. ### Environment The boss arena is quite large, giving you some room to maneuver. He'll call you a traitor and declare that you're 'Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings.'
