Complete the fast-moving underwater World 3-A in Super Mario Bros. 2. Collect Star Coin #1 by taking the upper path.
Walkthrough
- 1Enter the pipe to reach a fast-moving underwater stage where the current constantly pushes you to the right, leaving little room for error.
- 2If possible, hit the P switch on the ground and follow the blue coin path, swimming upward and then downward around Cheep Cheeps.
- 3Ahead, you will find ledges dividing the area; take the upper path to obtain Star Coin #1.
- 4Continue with the current until you reach a red pipe at the end. Go down this pipe to enter a calmer room below.
- 5Swim downward into another section through an opening in the floor.
- 6Go right and hit the ? switch to temporarily stop the current blocking access to Star Coin #2, located directly below.
- 7Swim around the thin ledges to grab Star Coin #2, then swim back out to the right.
- 8Hit the block to get a Star, then swim back upward along the current to exit this section.
- 9You can hit the block near the exit to get a Fire Flower if needed. Otherwise, proceed up the pipe.
- 10If you are invincible, it will be very helpful as you must avoid numerous giant urchins while swimming upward.
- 11Hit blocks along the way to get coins as the action moves right again.
- 12Swim through a red ring to activate the red coins. Collecting all of them grants an extra life.
- 13Along this path, you can grab Star Coin #3, which is floating in the lower half of the path.
- 14Continue swimming along the narrow path between the urchins; the green exit pipe will be ahead.
- 15Go through the green exit pipe, then jump up the ledges and collect any last-minute coins before hitting the flagpole to exit the level.
Tips
- An invincible status is highly beneficial for avoiding the giant urchins in the latter half of the stage.
- Collecting all eight red coins will reward you with an extra life.
- Be mindful of the constant current, as it significantly reduces your reaction time.
