Discover the locations of Mallow's ultimate weapons, the Sonic Cymbals and Sage Stick, in Super Mario RPG (2023). Get them during the Six-Door Challenge and post-game Belome rematch!
Hey there! Let's get Mallow kitted out with his best gear. He's got two awesome ultimate weapons, the Sonic Cymbals and the Sage Stick, and I'll show you exactly how to snag them.
Sonic Cymbals Location
This is Mallow's best weapon for the main part of the game. You'll need to head to Bowser's Keep and tackle the Six-Door Challenge. The tricky part is that the rooms you get are randomized each time you play. Plus, once you've gone through four doors, the game pushes you forward, so you might not get to finish them all in one go. Don't sweat it though, you can always come back later to finish the remaining challenges, maybe after you've progressed a bit further so you don't have to backtrack through the whole Keep.
When you get to that big room with six red doors near the start of Bowser's Keep, pick one. You're looking for a room with lava and moving platforms – that's Action Course One. Specifically, you want the one where the platforms move up and down, not side to side. Complete the three rooms of Action Course One, and you'll find a chest waiting for you with the Sonic Cymbals inside. If you're struggling with the challenges themselves, there's a more detailed guide for the Six-Door Challenge available.
| Location | Stats |
| Bowser’s Keep | +70 Attack |
Sage Stick Location
This is Mallow's absolute best weapon, but you can only get it after you've beaten the main story. Once you've finished the game, load up your clear save file. You'll wake up back in Mario's Pad, right before the final area. Toad will give you a voucher for the inn in Marrymore, so head there and take a nap using it. This triggers a scene with Geno that points you towards Star Hill. After you've dealt with the events in Star Hill, the post-game content will open up.
The Sage Stick is your reward for beating a super-tough rematch against "Scratchy-Throat" Belome in Belome Temple. He's way harder this time around! Once Belome is down, he'll leave behind something shiny – that's your Sage Stick. There's a separate guide if you need help taking down Scratchy-Throat Belome.
Remember, you'll find the post-game Belome in the same spot as before: Belome Temple.
| Location | Stats |
